The Avi spit is a fairly interesting territory. The sand from the Akip beach makes a large sandbar, stretching out nearly two miles! The sandbar makes a wide semi-circle, encasing a good amount of water. When the tide hits, the spit is either out of the water all the way or in the water all the way. The alternating tides leave some sea-creatures stranded in the drained sand. This type of food isn't always the best, but if a free meal comes along, then you gotta take it. Other scavengers take advantage of the spit too, grizzly bears and raccoons are the other top predators here.
